**Core Responsibilities**

Reporting to the Operations Director, the key responsibilities for the role include:

- Champion and lead all aspects of quality through the organisation
- Set quality plans and standards for new products
- Maintain inspection standards on incoming and in-house assembled products
- Generate and distribute reports on quality failings
- Collate and report all customer product failures
- Manage our ECR (Engineering Change Request) procedure
- Undertake root cause analysis on quality failures, work through corrective and preventative action process with Far East suppliers
- Support supplier selection process
- Create monthly quality reports both internal and external
- Support NPD in inclusion of quality aspects into build instructions
- Work with NPD, Procurement and Operations for NPI activities within the supply chain

**Skills/Experience/Knowledge**

**Essential**:

- Experience of working in a quality engineering role
- Degree, HNC or HND in engineering
- Experience of electromechanical assembly, mechanical components and manual assembly processes
- Able to interpret engineering drawings
- Proficient in quality analysis tools such as 8D, 5 Why, lean manufacturing etc
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to facilitate problem solving with production staff
- Experienced in developing supplier quality measures
- Good communicator, organised with strong time management
- Computer literate - knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages

**Desirable**:

- Previous experience in low volume, high value consumer electronics mechanical and electro mechanically products
- Experience in dealing with China suppliers
- A keen interest in golf
- Quality focus in every aspect of work
- Ability to communicate well at all levels
- Shows respect for the views and contributions of other departments, builds team spirit, and reconciles conflict; adapts to the team and fits in well
- Able to influence both external suppliers or internal customers
- Able to work unsupervised, and as part of a strong team
- Methodical and high attention to detail
