Do you have great typing skills, being fast and accurate and able to audio type then our Surgery department is looking for you
Your role will be responsible for typing clinic letters, reports and other clinical correspondence in line with the Trust’s contractual key performance indicators (KPIs), provide a high-quality clinical typing service to a team of consultants supporting the Divisional Patient Pathway Coordinators.
Using your fast and accurate audio typing skills and a sound knowledge of medical terminology you will work as part of a team providing cover for colleagues during sickness and annual leave where appropriate which may include providing typing support in other departments.
- Audio typing of clinical letters, operation notes and discharge summaries as directed by the Patient Pathway Coordinator to meet divisional specific KPI in relation to turnaround targets ensuring a high standard of accuracy and quality.
- Ensuring that all correspondences are dispatched promptly to patients, GP’s and other health care provider’s as required within agreed time frames.
- To ensure all letters and correspondences received for typing are prioritised in an accurate and efficient manner for example in date or urgency order.
- To liaise with Patient Pathway Coordinator’s making them aware of any actions on the patient’s pathway (ie. outstanding appointments, investigation requests to support the patient’s care pathway and achievement of waiting time targets.
- Perform to the requirements of set KPI’s. To be responsible for accessing relevant result reporting systems and ensuring information is escalated as appropriate.
