Ubdc Project Officer

**Job Purpose**
Working as a member of a dynamic Professional Services team at the Urban Big Data Centre (UBDC), the Project Officer will provide comprehensive project support across several large international research grants held by the Centre, as well as other projects as required. The post-holder will join UBDC at an exciting and busy time for the Centre, and the role will provide the opportunity to play an integral part in the success of several important projects, liaising closely with international partners.
The role will be varied, and duties will include end-to-end project management, project delivery monitoring, organisation of events, coordinating project reports, planning and organisation of board meetings, and other high-level administrative duties as required.
This post is based at the UBDC, within the College of Social Sciences at the University of Glasgow. The post-holder will report to UBDC’s Centre Manager, working as part of the Centre’s Management and Professional team.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. To work closely with the UBDC Centre Manager, and Deputy Centre Director, as well as multiple external project partners, to ensure the effective delivery and management of a range of large research grants.
2. Propose, organise and manage events related to specific Centre research projects, as well as assisting with the delivery of other Centre events as required.
3. Take the lead on liaising with project researchers and partners for monitoring deliverables and project management for a range of grant-funded projects and contribute to the development and communication of outcomes and impact.
4. To provide strategic and operational advice to the Centre Deputy Director as to the delivery of project priorities.
5. Work closely withg the UBDC Communications & Engagement Officer to develop and maintain external communications for research projects, using appropriate channels.
6. To organise project meetings with international partners and produce minutes. Assist with clerking other UBDC meetings, as required.
7. Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of project activities and produce written reports as required.
8. Lead on monitoring income and expenditure, and financial reporting for a range of UBDC research projects, supporting the UBDC Centre Manager, and Deputy Director with budgetary decision-making.

A1 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 8 (Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4, Higher National Diploma) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in
a similar role, or ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills through
personal development and progression in a similar related role(s).
**Desirable**:
B1 Familiarity with the challenges of working within a complex, multi-partner research project.
B2 Knowledge and experience of the challenges and opportunities of working on equitable international collaborations.

E1 Relevant practical experience in a similar or related roles with qualifications noted above, or evidence of progression and development gained through appropriate period of relevant work experience.

E4 Experience of managing project deliverables, KPIs, and writing reports.
E5 Experience of organising and managing events, and high-level meetings.
