**Apprentice Electronics Engineer**

**Location**:Colne

The company is an established manufacturing and service business satisfying the needs of UK Water Utility companies, we do this by using technology to help reduce flooding and prevent pollution of rivers and beaches. They specialise in real-time WastewaterNetwork Monitoring, and are a manufacturer of Smart Level and Flow monitoring instrumentation. The company install, maintain and operate on their clients’ behalf, throughout the UK and overseas.

**The Apprenticeship**

The company are strategically working with UCLAN to offer the chance to gain an engineering degree, but at the same both, earn a living, and gain valuable industry experience.

**The Role**

You will work within the Research & Development team, working on electronic design, development, and validation of both existing products, and developing revolutionary IOT enabled devices that will deliver the company's 5-year product development roadmap.

The role will interact with all elements of the team
- Embedded Engineers (people who type)
- Mechanical Engineers (people who use spanners)
- Hardware Engineers (people who solder)
- Software Engineers (people who are in the clouds)
- Project Managers (people who love spreadsheets)

One day you might be building prototypes, the next day, helping debug a problem, another day looking for alternative components to solve supply chain issues.

**Expectations**

Successful applicants will:

- Have an inquisitive mindset, and look to solve problems
- Minimum grade of C at GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths & English
- Literate, numerate, naturally tidy, organised, have a good work-ethic and have meticulous attention to detail.
- You will demonstrate a passion for Engineering either through hobbies or your educational choices. For example, you simply enjoy fixing electronic equipment, electrical items either from a mechanical or electrical perspective.
- IT-literate and familiar with Microsoft Office, particularly Word/Outlook/Excel
