**Children Residential Support Worker**
**Working hours**:
The agency endeavour to find you temporary, full-time, part-time, and weekend work. The hours are usually 15 hours per shift. A typical shift may be from 0800 hours to 2300 hours.
**Remuneration**:
As an agency worker you choose when and if you wish to work, the rate of pay is £11.20 per hour (inclusive of holiday entitlement).
**Working location**:
Peterborough, Wisbech, Holbeach, Spalding, Long Sutton, Ely and surrounding areas

Our client is an agency that provides workers to companies within the care sector, who themselves provide care, support and accommodation to children and young people aged 8 to 18, sometimes on a 1:1 basis.

As an Agency Worker, you could work for various Service Providers in your area supporting children and young people in their homes. Your will need to be a good role model, and actively want to support young people to:
- Develop their life skills and access local services and activities - e.g. leisure, education, employment, volunteering, healthcare and benefits
- Develop healthy lifestyles, positive relationships, resilience, self-esteem and confidence
- Be happy, secure and live in a clean home, where everyone is safe from the behaviour of others
You will also:
- provide emotional support to children and young people who may have complex needs and may present challenging or criminal behaviour
- Safeguard young people as a priority. Report any concerns to your Service Provider Line Manager
- Drive the company cars to transport young people to appointments
Expectations:
- Be a professional upstanding role model with high morals, values and standards.
- Observe strict confidentiality and data protection concerning young people (past and present) and the organisational, during and after employment.
- Follow the Service Provider’s policies, procedures, goals, guidance, risk assessments, reporting and monitoring requirements.
- Check homes are safe, clean, hygienic and be aware of health and safety dangers
- Attend all compulsory training, refresher training, meetings and supervisions.

- Competence in written and spoken English
- Ability to follow instructions and write reports
- Ability to comply with policies and procedures
- Ability to deal with issues promptly and inform line managers when necessary
- Approachable, honest, reliable and trustworthy
- A good role model
- Interpersonal skills
- Possess a good temperament, non-judgemental and be a good listener
- Self-motivation, a positive attitude and energetic.
- Able to work under pressure and deal with challenging behaviour

- Able to motivate young people so that goals are achieved
- A commitment to Safeguarding
- Able to work alone and as part of a team, including common sense and good decision-making skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and unsocial hours, including sleep in duties when required
- Punctual, arrive at work on time and leave shift at the appointed time
- A strong desire for self-development
- Due to age of the client group you must be over 21 years old
Due to the nature of the work a full driving licence is essential.
