**Job Summary**

The Commercial Assistant role is an office based B2B sales role with the aim of managing and expanding the client base for Augean Treatment & Transfer - North, Department.

This is a brand-new role within the Commercial team, with the primary responsibility to assist the Commercial team to make a difference in achieving business objectives, goals, and strategy by generating sales and delivering excellent customer service. In addition to meeting/exceeding Key Performance Indicators.

Working within the Commercial team and providing all-round administrative/sales/customer support to the activities of Treatment and Transfer - North

Commercial tasks will include cold calling, developing new business. Generating quotations / proposals, assisting with tenders, pricing, and providing management reports.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Proactively support and embed Augean’s health and safety culture, behaviour and values across all services and associated activities.
- Ensure compliance with the relevant environmental permits, regulatory guidance, company management system and Augean’s Standard Operating System (SOP).
- Adherence to Augean’s corporate governance procedures.
- maintain a list of existing clients, making sure regular contact is kept with known points of contact and ascertain any additional service requirements.
- use online media and other routes, to identify potential clients across the North of England and Scotland, making calls to introduce Augean hazardous waste capabilities. Identify named points of contact with potential waste streams for treatment or transfer.
- work with the relevant operational department to provide customers with detailed quotes based on their service requirements using appropriate media.
- Advise clients of safe and legal handling of hazardous waste procedures.
- Working within the Sales, Operations and Administration teams providing administrative support to the activities of the Augean teams dealing with Bulk or Containerised Waste Solutions.
- Assist with other sales related tasks such as tender submissions, trade shows, open days as required.
- Work with the Marketing Department to generate mailshots to existing/potential clients as above, having due regard for data protection regulations, and follow up mailshots with phone calls.
- Attend training as required to maintain personal qualification/competence.
- Comply with the Company Equal Opportunities Policy and promote equality.
- Creating accurate quotations from the enquiry to forward onto clients on behalf of account managers.
- Updating and maintaining customer information on Weighsoft, including producing spreadsheets and reports.
- Responsible for all administration including producing reports via Excel & correspondence as & when requested.
- Providing telephone support to the Sales team and other stakeholders.
- Ensuring a high level of customer service is achieved.
- Working within a team who are responsible for completing all job tickets and invoicing, providing team members with support in these activities when required.
- Maintaining continuous professional development and competence for the role.
- Any other reasonable duties as and when required to suit the needs of the business.

**Critical Qualifications**
- English and maths at standard grade (or equivalent). Previous sales experience would be advantageous.

**Critical Knowledge, Skills, and Experience**
- Track record of giving excellent customer service
- Proven track record, collaborating with a team, in managing a busy workload, meeting deadlines, and delivering results.
- Administration, Technical and/or Commercial experience preferably in the Waste industry
- A good command of the English language (written and oral)
- Strong computer-based skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint with previous experience gained within an administrative / commercial / finance role.
- Ability to focus on detail and complete administrative duties to tight deadlines.
- Experience of and ability to work in a methodical, organised, and systematic manner.
- Skilled in working within deadlines whilst being flexible and able to confidently prioritise tasks.

**Salary**: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
