**The Chambers**
**Barristers Chambers**
**Provide a platform for 80 plus barristers, across all areas of law to represent their clients. This is achieved through providing services including: administrative, diary management, practice development, business development, marketing, fee.**
**The Position**
**4 story Georgian Building.**
**Busy working environment but with relaxed and friendly atmosphere.**
**The Apprentice would work between three teams, clerking, marketing/front of house and fees.**
**The varied work leads to a challenging working day but every day will provide a different challenge.**
**The Office Junior/Apprentice position is divided into the following areas of responsibility and activity**:
** opening and distributing barrister’s briefs, instructions and associated post to appropriate clerking/marketing/fees teams;**
** taking books, briefs/papers and robes to court;**
** delivering urgent documents to client premises and other chambers;**
** assisting with stationery supplies/ordering;**
** working with clerking teams and checking court listings against chambers diary and case management systems to ensure accurate case listing information;**
** general administrative duties;**
** provide support and cover for front of house as and when required**
** assist the Fee Collection Team with administrative support**
** assisting barristers as and when requested.**
** answering phones and transferring to relevant clerking/accounts teams or barrister.**
** Cover for front of house including dealing with incoming calls, setting up conferences.**
**As the role progresses additional opportunities will arise, such as**:
** General clerking duties including, conflict checks, allocation of work, diary management, fee negotiating, data entry etc.**
** proactively seeking work for the chambers by keeping in touch with solicitors and undertaking other marketing activities, such as holding seminars and hosting events;**
** keeping chambers presentable across all areas of the building;**
** attending marketing events to assist marketing and clerking teams;**
** social media, maintain a responsible social media platform to support chambers;**
** administrative assistance in promoting marketing events;**
** research and development;**
**IMPORTANT**
**Desired skills**
4-9 grades English and maths GCSE's
- Confident with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage reception in conjunction with other administration duties
- Good attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of ICT packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to demonstrate or gain a clear understanding of the firm’s in-house systems where training will be given
- Excellent presentation, organisation and timekeeping skills
- Awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding
- The ability to use own initiative, be able to work individually as well as part of a team
- Must be well-presented with a clear, pleasant telephone manner
- Good organisational skills
- Good client care skills

**You will complete the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard.**
- This Apprenticeship will involve off the job training.
- You will also develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours.
- You need to have an employer to support your Apprenticeship and be employed in a relevant job role.
- The typical length of this Apprenticeship course is 18 months.
- This course has multiple start dates throughout the year
