Compliance Officer

A new opportunity has arisen for a Compliance Officer to join our talented team in Guildford. The purpose of this role is to promote legal, data protection and regulatory compliance within the business by monitoring business activity, influencing stakeholders and providing advice and guidance on data protection topics, to ensure business objectives are aligned with regulatory requirements and internal corporate rules. While this role is primarily focused on data protection monitoring, in time there will be the opportunity to engage in other compliance monitoring work if desired and where appropriate.

This is a hybrid role working from our Guildford office a minimum of 2 days a month.

Salary Circa £40,000

Supports the delivery of the annual Compliance Department Monitoring plan
Provides technical reporting and process management in accordance with the Financial Conduct Authority, Information Commissioner’s Office and all other applicable financial services regulators
Provides reporting as required by relevant committees including sub-committees of the Allianz Holdings Board
Capable of discussing compliance topics with senior leaders
Strong communication skills
Identifies opportunities for efficiencies and improvements, monitors trends
Plans workload and priorities of indirect line reports when required
Deputises for the (indirect) line manager as and when required

Essential Skills
- Able to communicate complex data protection concepts clearly to non-experts verbally and in writing
- Understanding of the operations and products of an insurance company.
- Report writing skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Inquisitive mind.
- Previous experience in a governance, compliance, data protection, risk or legal-related role
- Previous operational/business experience

**Qualifications**:
Relevant Professional qualification e.g. Data Protection.
Chartered Insurance Institute
Certified Data Practitioner
