We have a vacancy for a joint Warehouse Supervisor / Warehouse Operative in a dual-role to work at our packaging distribution centre near Bamber Bridge, Preston PR5 8AS.

Daily activities will be split between those of the warehouse supervisor and the loading and un-loading of containers and trucks, plus some general warehouse duties.

The supervisor role will involve supporting the warehouse manager in the administration of a small team of around 6 people. Duties will include contacting customers, hauliers and suppliers to arrange incoming and outgoing consignments so we are looking for someone with good communication skills and telephone manner. Experience of using warehouse management software and stock-control software is not essential but desirable.

Fork lift truck licences for counter-balance, reach and Bendi are preferred but not essential as training will be given as appropriate. A valid UK car driver’s licence is a requirement.

Successful applicants must be computer literate, numerate and have the ability to work as part of team as well as on their own initiative. This is not an entirely desk-based job so a combination of supervisor skills along with fitness and general good health is vital.

Starting salary is commensurate with ability and experience. Hours of work are 8:00 am to 5:30 pm with breaks amounting to a 40 hour paid week.

There are currently no requirements to wear Covid related PPE in the warehouse. Our offices however are single-person self contained units. All staff members are requested not to enter an office unit without the permission of the occupant.

- Conter Balance Fork Lift Licence/Certification (preferred)
