Here at Serco, we are looking for a ROTL and PPU Prison (Operational) Support Officer to join the team at our new state of the art Category C prison, HMP Fosse Way.

The role of a ROTL and PPU Prison Support Officer is to offer Operational Support within Offender Management Unit

To report directly to the Public Protection Manager and carry out the duties detailed by them.
To collate and gather information from prisoners files on arrival at HMP Fosse Way, processing this information into a format that can be effectively shared with internal and external agencies.
Produce reports for the Inter-Departmental Risk Management team in a timely manner.
Respond and produce reports on prisoners for MAPPA meetings in a timely manner when requested.
Effectively manage prisoners ViSOR records, updating any information when required.
If required, to monitor telephone calls, incoming and outgoing mail and to report any intelligence gathered from this monitoring. Follow any process resulting from the intelligence gathered.
To ensure that all monitoring is conducted within the relevant legislation and that the correct authority is granted to do so before any monitoring takes place.
Ensure that all monitoring is logged correctly and the required data from that monitoring stored safely and securely.
To liaise with the Police Information Officer and support them in the gathering of evidence.
To gather intelligence from IRs and assist the Security Manager

What you will need to do the role

Knowledge of MAPPA procedures, security procedures. Experience of a secure environment or of similar client group.
Process management.
Organisational and analytical skills.
A team player with flexibility and interpersonal skills with visitors, staff and prisoners. Good communication skills and the ability to monitor and audit processes and procedures.
Report writing, numerate (interpretation and collection presentation of statistics).
This position requires upmost trust and decorum when dealing with sensitive information.
Knowledge and understanding of the Serco Custodial Security Strategy (SCSS), associated PSO/PSI’s and Local Operating Procedures
Understanding of working in a secure environment
