Funding Officer
**Job Description**:
**Job title**:Funding Officer**
**Hours**: 12 hours per week,
Over Three days.
**Salary**: £13.00 per hour
**Holiday PA**:68 hours per annum plus public holidays
**Purpose of Job**:
To expand the current funding streams, enabling HNCA to carry out its day-to-day objectives.
Identify new funding partners to further increase opportunities for developing new and existing projects and allow HNCA to be more sustainable. Assist the Admin team with Front of House duties pertaining to funding.
**Job Summary**:
The post holder will be responsible for raising funds for HNCA and covering administrative duties in relation to funding. Community fundraising, grants/trusts and developing other key income streams: major donors/sponsors, regular giving and corporate. The post holder will hold a strategic over view of the Community Centres fundraising needs and be a key player in the charity’s communication and marketing.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
**Income Generation**
- Approach potential donors and maintain current supporter records / lists.
- Liaise with external agencies, including voluntary sector organisations, the media, local authorities, business contacts, trustees and other stakeholders or clients.
- Develop, support, manage and organise imaginative fundraising initiatives and events.
- Develop and broaden corporate support.
- Inspire new supporters to raise money, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters.
- Deliver presentations to interested groups and attend events.
- Develop and coordinate web-based fundraising including social media..
**Strategic Direction**
Maintain and update the fundraising and communication budgets with the trustees and finance manager
Develop and update a strategic plan to guide fundraising activities and revenue generation.
Work in conjunction with the trustees and finance manager to have a good overall understanding of all revenue streams.
**Communication**
Working closely with the Centre team, conduct marketing and public relations activities to raise the profile of the charity, its services and campaigns using social media, local press and radio as well as word of mouth.

**Administration**
Carry out administrative tasks as and when required in line with the job description.
- Planning, forecasting and managing budgets.
- Gathering data.
- Preparing funding reports for trustees’ meetings.
- Reviewing and updating website and social media content.
- Responding to messages on social media pertaining to income.
- Preparation and maintenance of fundraising database.
- Design fundraising materials such as leaflets and flyers with Admin team
- Contribute updates of fundraising events and activities for quarterly newsletters.
- Other administration and clerical duties as directed by manager to meet the charity's needs.
- The post holder will be expected to adhere to all organisational policies, including the
Centre’s health and safety policy.
- Ensure that the Centre is open on time when on shift, unlocking and locking in order to maintain our continuity.
- Work closely with admin team to avoid duplication and Association incompetence.
**Front of House**
To oversee Front of House revenue tasks, carried out by staff and volunteers. Ensuring all income is logged for funding reports. Work with the admin team to gather information for increasing the centre’s profile.
**Flexibility**
The role requires a willingness to work variable hours on occasions, which will include weekends and evening work, outside the weekday opening hours.
**Line Managemen**t
The post holder will be accountable directly to the Chairman and Vice Chair with a designated Line
Manager assigned to them for first point of contact.

**Person Specification, Knowledge and Experience**
- Min of three years’ experience of charity fundraising over a range of methods, with an excellent record of accomplishment.
- Experience of a wide range of communication methods including press and social media.
- An understanding of the role and contribution of volunteers in the work of a voluntary organisation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good administration skills.
- Strong IT/computer skills including Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook.
