**Job Overview**

This role reports to the Senior Buyer and primarily involves placing of purchase orders with suppliers and scheduling of materials in conjunction with the team to meet customer requirements.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Placement of purchase orders with suppliers
- Deal with purchase requisitions from all departments
- Monitor and update schedules to meet often changing production requirements
- Investigation of shortages and implement corrective action where appropriate
- Progress orders where necessary and report any issues
- General administrative duties in a busy procurement department
- Provide input to the purchasing team to help shape future progression as the business continues to grow.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Experience of working in a purchasing environment
- Awareness of cost vs value
- Comfortable working in a busy environment with tight deadlines
- Good communication skills - in person, on the phone and electronic
- Ability to work with other personnel and suppliers at all levels
- Attention to detail
- Tenacity to bring issues to a point of resolution
- Knowledge of Sage 200 or similar - training will be provided as necessary
- An enquiring mind and a willingness to learn about the products manufactured.
