We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a school on the outskirts of Cambridge. In this role, you will work closely with students who require additional support to manage their learning, emotions,build positive relationships, and develop resilience. You will work alongside teachers and other support staff to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that fosters the social and emotional well-being of all students.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work with individual students or small groups to provide targeted support for pupils with complex and significant learning needs including but not limited to autistic spectrum condition and those with sensory impairments.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to identify students who require additional support, and develop individualised plans to meet their needs
- Deliver interventions and strategies to support students with anxiety, depression, behavioural challenges, and other mental health difficulties
- Monitor and track the progress of students receiving support, and adjust interventions as needed
- Liaise with parents and carers to keep them informed of their child's progress and provide guidance on how to support their child's development at home
- Participate in relevant training and development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in supporting students
**Requirements**:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable but not mandatory
- Experience working with students with additional needs also desirable
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
