We’re looking for an organised and enthusiastic Operations Support Assistant to join the friendly team at our established English language school in York city centre.

You’ll be a friendly, helpful individual who is happy to get stuck in to a busy role with varied responsibilities. Although experience in a similar role would be an advantage, flexibility, a willingness to get involved and a “can-do” attitude are most important You’ll be approachable and have a keen interest in working with people from diverse international backgrounds.

This wide ranging role supporting the day to day smooth operation of the centre includes three main areas of responsibility:
**Student & groups support**:Booking group social activities, coach transport, airport transfers, bus passes, lunch arrangements as required, liaising closely with the Sales and Academic teams. Completing risk assessment forms for on
- and off-site activities.

**Stock provision**:maintaining a good stock of office supplies, stationery, branded promotional items and catering supplies. Managing the company purchasing system and ensuring supplier lists are kept up to date.

**Buildings and Maintenance**:Checking equipment and monitoring the building for maintenance issues, liaising with tradespeople about repairs. Supporting staff with straightforward IT and hardware / software problems. Setting up classrooms (this may involve moving furniture and electrical or audio-visual equipment between rooms). Supporting with health and safety requirements including regular fire alarm testing and risk assessments.
