**The Cloud Architect MUST have knowledge in the following areas**:

- Application development
- Application portfolio and life cycle management
- Data management, analytics, and protection
- Enterprise management
- External IT hosting
- Governance
- Identity and access management (IAM)
- Infrastructure
- Integration
- Network
- Security, privacy, and compliance
- User experience

**The Cloud Architect's Responsibilities will be, to**:

- Ensure cloud initiatives do not damage or disrupt the overall enterprise architecture but should recommend EA tweaks to account for cloud offerings.
- Develop architecture policies in context of cloud initiatives and they should help to influence policy adjustments or creation as cloud evolution dictates.
- Create and drive cloud-native architecture principles, aligned to the overall Enterprise Architecture principles.
- Collaborate with procurement to modify traditional vendor management toward cloud provider management.
- Enforce IT and business unit alignment in the specific context of cloud, again this will be in conjunction with Enterprise Architecture.
- To work with ICT and the business to realign shadow IT cloud services with the corporate approach to cloud.
- Possess specific cloud provider or platform experience as it relates to Azure.
- Demonstrate leadership and collaboration experience.
- Hold specific cloud provider or platform certifications.
