The national strategic direction in General Practice within the structure of Primary Care Networks(PCNs) is to employ via the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) a wide range of healthcare professionals to manage the increasing demand.
As part of this national schemeMentalHealthPractitioners are employed across all PCNs with the ambition that it will support joint working with local mental health services and improve access to appropriate services.
As part of the national community mental health transformation programme,Wigan isworking to develop a multi-agency Living Well service that sits between primary and secondary care. Akey part of that is an enhanced offer in primary careof which theSeniorMentalHealthPractitioners playsa key role.
The ambition is that the support available in primary care will be enhanced and better integrated withother community mental health servicesfor people with more complex needs.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and compassionate senior mental health practitioner to join one of our Primary Care Networks in Wigan.
The role requires excellent clinical skills, supervisory skills, and communication skills. The role involves both clinical work and non clinical work including supervising others, provision of training/education and service development.
