We are looking for a high calibre Deputy Manager to work in our Nursery.
Your Mission:
- Enthusiastically work with a team of practitioners to ensure best practice at all times
- Develop strategies and approaches, in partnership with the Directors, Operations Manager and Nursery Manager, working with them to implement them across the setting
- Navigate difficult and challenging situations and mediate to find solutions
- Work in partnership with the leadership team to set achievable goals, helping to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, and completing administrative tasks on time and to a high standard.
- Support all Room Leaders in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum and establish workable routines using clear expectations
- Role model and monitor the delivery of rich play learning opportunities and exceptional care that helps all children to develop and meets their individual needs.
- Ensuring the teams keep the nursery ordered, clean and presentable at all times
- Work with the management to mentor, train and coach staff in a number of areas, including health and safety, risk assessment, observations, planning and leadership.
- Lead, mentor and inspire a team of 25 to 45 educators to deliver exceptional care and education and provide feedback to create a consistent approach of early years practice to include but not limited to regular 1:1's, Supervisions and appraisals.
- Work with management to help develop policy and maintain an in-depth understanding of national and local statutory and non-statutory frameworks within which the nursery operates
- Set out innovative ways of providing early years education and care for babies, toddlers and pre-school children using practical solutions
- Role model and monitor the delivery of rich play learning opportunities and exceptional care that helps all children to develop and meets their individual needs.
- Responsibility to make referrals to external agencies and regulatory bodies.
- Fulfil recruitment needs for the nursery as required aligned to the Safer Recruitment Policy.
- Provide new starters with tailored inductions to suit both local and internationally recruited new starters.
- Designated Safeguarding Lead to promote the health, safety and welfare of children and employees and families in line with child protection.
- Risk Assessing the nursery through the day, every day, and actioning; maintaining and critically assessing all policies, procedures and practice to drive improvement.
- Continually work in partnership with colleagues, parents and/or carers or other professionals to meet the individual needs of the children ensuring a diverse and inclusive approach is maintained at all times.
About you:
- Experience working in a nursery setting with added responsibility. Ability to motivate and lead a team to deliver outstanding practice consistently.
- You will hold a full and relevant childcare qualification (Level 3 or above)
- Minimum 2 Years proven experience working and caring for children under 5
- Thorough understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding/child protection
- Passion to deliver high quality childcare and exciting learning opportunities
- Strong Communication skills
- good command of spoken and written English.
- A desire to grow in your role, and keenness to take on new challenges. Be a self-starter and a self-teacher, willing to learn and grow in the role
