**DEPUTY BILLING MANAGER - ANY UK OFFICE**

**Role overview**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Billing Manager to join our Finance team in any of our UK offices.

Key elements of the role include:

- Assisting with bill processing during busy periods for the team, particularly at the month end and ensuring that all bills submitted for processing comply with client guidelines and all relevant VAT and Solicitor Account Rules.
- Direct management and coaching of the London Billing Team and working with the Leeds and Scottish Team Leaders to include allocation of resource and workflow.
- Ensure the billing teams comply with the correct authorisation in respect of time and disbursements write offs and credit notes in line with the Firm's Additional Discount Policy, SARs, and statutory accounting obligations
- Ongoing monitoring and management of the Firm's volume rebates and value accounts. Agreeing the volume rebate / value account calculations with the Relationship Partner and raising any related credit notes and payment at the appropriate time.
- Calculating year-end and half year end provisions in relation to the firm's volume rebate and value accounts (and periodic ad hoc calculations as requested by the Management Accounts team)
- High level daily review of Bill Tracker to ensure the teams’ bills are dispatched within 48 hours or otherwise cancelled.
- High level monthly review of whole teams’ anticipated disbursements to ensure Team Leaders are moving this forward within their teams
- Developing strong internal working relationships with Relationship Partners and other key stakeholders in relation to agreeing and implementing new centralised client billing processes.

**What are we looking for?**
- Experience of complex legal billing within an international law firm - minimum 2 years’ experience.
- Working knowledge of Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and VAT compliance.
- Significant team management experience.
- Experience in the preparation of complex billing and other matter related finance information.
- Proficient in using Microsoft office packages, in particular Excel.
- Use of Aderant PMS desirable but not essential.
