**Summary of Role**

To provide a comprehensive and proactive customer focused finance service and support to the finance team. To build relationships with teams and individuals across the organisation to support them to improve their financial acumen and achieve improved organisationalefficiency. To ensure that the information in Mount Green Accounting system is up to date and accurate within agreed timescales.

**Key Tasks**
- Ensuring invoices are appropriately coded, authorised and filed
- To ensure that payments are made to suppliers, tenants and staff for expenses on a timely basis
- Preparation of fortnightly BACS payment runs and issuing of cheques - ensure creditors are paid within their terms
- Maintaining signatory lists for invoice approval and payments
- Day to day banking matters for all bank accounts and liaising with transactional bankers
- including signatories and mandates
- Bank and Balance sheet reconciliations - on time and balances accurately maintained
- Speaking to suppliers to resolve queries
- Posting of transactions to accounts ledger including, credit card transactions, staff expenses and all bank movements
- Completing the month end purchase ledger close procedure
- Cash flow reporting of actuals
- Short-term cash flow forecasting-daily/monthly
- Posting of income and adjustments to rent accounts on the Housing Management system and provide cover for the Income accountant on urgent matters
- Actively support Mount Green’s vision, mission and values, including placing residents at the core of our work whilst delivering value for money

- Support the Assistant Director of Finance, as required, on tasks that are consistent or commensurate with the role and / or directed by them

**Person Specification (all essential unless otherwise specified)**

**Education and Qualification**
- AAT or equivalent Qualification (desirable)
- At least 3 GCSEs, including Maths

**Knowledge and Experience**
- At least 6 months experience working in a finance team
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles including reconciliations
- Purchase Ledger experience
- Experience of the housing sector or property development sector (desirable)
- VAT knowledge (desirable)

**Skills and Ability**
- An eye for detail
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to build effective relationships
- Good working knowledge of accounting systems (desirable)
- IT skills: (Advanced Outlook/word/Excel)
