The Role:
An OFSTED rated Outstanding Primary SEN school in Brent in between West Kilburn & Harlesden is looking for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work with children ranging from EYFS to KS2. The school prides itself in being an inclusive community celebratingdiversity supporting children with a wide range of needs including global development delay, autism and severe/ complex learning difficulties.

The role would be a combination of supporting small class sizes of 6 - 9 children and 1:1 work, therefore being flexible and active is key. The pupils thrive in a wonderful establishment with breathtaking facilities ingraining wrap-around therapeutic care.These involve a sensory resource base, sensory and soft play suites, wonderful sporting facilities and weekly music and art lessons

This leading SEN school prides itself on valuing creative, flexible and passionate staff, who are dedicated in nurturing the best outcomes for the pupils. This school has fantastic opportunities for professional development & continuous support from thesenior leadership team and specialist colleagues. Pay can be up to £100 a day, depending on experience and if you can impress during a paid trial, which the school is more than happy to arrange to give you a real taste. Experience is by no means required,so this is a great opportunity if you’re looking to kick start a career in special education or just develop your existing skills further.

The school’s hours of this role are 8.30am - 4pm.

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant should:

- Have experience working with children with SEN
- Be flexible, proactive and patient
- Be nurturing and caring in your approaches
- Be able to communicate effectively within a team
- Be open to providing personal care
- Have a Background in Education, Care, Psychology or Drama, as these are very transferable.
- Training or experience in non-verbal communication is preferred, but a willingness to learn is essential. For example Makaton, PECS
