**A quick look at the role**:
The**Site Manager** will operate Biffa's Hazardous Waste Facility in Leicester and requires an energetic, self-motivated individual who has the ability to engage and lead a successful team to achieve operational metrics.

The role will require the management of compliance in regards to the health and safety of all customers, site staff and contractors working on or visiting the site.

The Site Manager will oversee the whole operation while delivering excellent service and providing the client with a genuine ‘confidence in Biffa's' approach.

The role will ensure the infrastructure is in place to enable the business to be able to respond quickly and effectively to clients' needs which in return will result in first-class customer service.

The role holder will continually strive for improvements in performance of the site key performance indicators and contracts to the advantage of the client and our business related to EBIT targets.

- Adhering of H&S compliance in line with both internal and external guidance and legislation.
- Giving direction with regards to working practices to all onsite operatives, ensuring that all relevant health and safety procedures are understood and adhered to.
- Managing compliance with all site-specific health and safety standards and procedures, producing and reporting on H&S statistics; including near miss reporting, and working with the company standards to ensure zero accidents.
- Maintaining site permit requirements and other legislative requirements to ensure they are compliant and managed appropriately in line with the recommended frequencies.
- Liaising with all regulating bodies (EA) and any local authorities to ensure compliance and maintain positive working relationships with the local area and populous
- Controlling and directing the performance of both costs and revenue to ensure achievement of profit targets in line with budgeted targets, with a continuous improvement mindset to exceed targets. Inclusive of preventative maintenance to aide optimum performance.
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities to add stakeholder value as well as driving down costs to improve EBIT without compromising on safety.
- Producing monthly reports and management information, including provision of data for customer reporting and delivery of all contractual KPIs.

**Requirements**:
**Here's what we require**:

- COTC 4MTSH is required or a willingness to undertake the course.
- IOSH or NEBOSH trained or a willingness to undertake the course.
- Background in Chemistry would be advantageous however not essential.
- Lean Six Sigma experience however qualification is preferred.
- Experience of working in a waste process operation or a lean operation.
- Experience of the Waste Industry or FMCG Manufacturing would be beneficial.
- Strong experience of people and health & safety management.
- Proven track record of delivering against key metrics such as KPI's and Objectives.
- Experience of Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility.
- The ability to work within a commercially driven and time-critical environment.
- Knowledge of existing and impending environmental and health and safety legislation.
- Proven track record of delivering continuous improvement within an Operational/Service environment.
- Strong Commercial background with experience of building and maintaining customer relationships.
- Strong presentation, negotiating and influential skills.
- Excellent communication skill with the ability to communicate in writing, on a one to one basis and via the phone with all levels including management, team members and internal/external customers.
- Robust and resilient, able to absorb pressure and respond positively.
- The ability to communicate with conviction, plan with precision and, most importantly, play well with others.
- Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, however A-Levels or a Degree certainly won't do any harm.
- Computer literate - comfortable using business software and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Full current UK Car Driving licence.
- Willingness to adapt and develop skill-sets and knowledge as determined by the post and business.
