Benefits include: Competitive salary with shift allowance Permanent, full-time position with training and career development Work with an industry leader in environmental compliance and sustainability 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) Company pension and further training opportunities Day-to-day duties:As aEnvironmental Chemist (Waste Management)your duties will include (but not be limited to): Accept and inspect incoming hazardous and non-hazardous waste in line with permits and legislation. Verify consignment and Duty of Care paperwork for accuracy and compliance. Conduct safety checks before waste acceptance and complete sampling for analysis. Record waste acceptance, routing and non-conformances using theSAP system . Segregate, label and store waste safely according to compatibility and environmental permits. Support waste processing activities – bulking, sorting, and repacking as required. Collaborate with chemists, site operatives and management to maintain operational efficiency. Promote high standards of health, safety, and environmental awareness across the site. Essential skills:To be successful as an Environmental Chemist , you will need: HNC, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or related field– essential. Previous experience inwaste management, chemical handling, or environmental services– desirable. Working knowledge ofhazardous waste regulations, COSHH, and environmental compliance . Confident interpreting technical data, safety documentation, and inspection reports. Hands-on approach and willingness to work outdoors in an operational environment. Desirable experience: IT literacy (SAP experience advantageous but not essential).Training:Full training will be provided, with ongoing development support.
