**Farm shop assistant.**

Meadow Grange Nursery is a large garden centre and nursery situated in Whitstable across two sites. The retail site has an extensive indoor area and with over 4 acres of plants. We employ staff who are dedicated to horticulture and retail who are as passionate about customer service as much as we are. We have recently built a small café with indoor and outdoor seating serving hot beverages and light lunches, we are looking for a talented individual to run and develop this exciting project.

**Function**:
An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person with a background in food retail to run our busy farm shop. Set within an established garden centre we are situated between Canterbury and Whitstable. We are looking for someone with good attention to detail and an interest in food with a passion for always providing a high level of customer service. You will be responsible for purchasing, making sales, stock control, displaying merchandise and maintaining a high level of cleanliness, food hygiene and health & safety.

**Person specification**:
- Experience in a similar role. (Food hygiene certificate level 2-3 desirable) Onsite Training can be given.
- High standards of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene
- Presentable with good people skills and an strong eye for detail.
- Hard working person who can multitask.
- Great customer service.
- Work unsupervised and as part of a team.
- Great communication skills.
- Can do attitude
- Good time management.
**Responsible to**: The Shop and purchasing manager / General manager

**Hours of work**: 42.5 hours per week, Tuesday - Saturday, working days can be discussed at interview.

**Salary**: Dependant on experience
