**About the role**
The Programme Management Office (PMO) sits within the Capital Chief Officer area, but operates pan-TfL support capital projects with over 300 specialist staff and apprentices. We are key to supporting and controlling a wide range of complex project, programmes and portfolios across London Underground, Surface Transport, London Rail and Commercial Development, working closely with Finance, Commercial and sponsorship.
The Project Controls Assistant will assist with control functions on major programmes, including planning, risk management, governance, reporting, cost management, and resource management. To support the creation and updating of programme data. To support in the analysis of and assist with the interpretation of the reports produced, and assist with the management of the relevant programme control systems and records.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Assist with the maintenance and updating of integrated programmes.
- Assist with the analysis and reporting of projects and programmes.
- Assist with cost analysis of projects and programme.
- Assist with overall reporting and governance of the projects and programmes, including change control.
- Assist with reviewing, updating and reporting of programme risk and opportunities.
- Assist with the reporting and analysis of programme resource forecasts and staff levels.
- Assist with the management and control of programme records and information.
- Provide ad-hoc support and cover for project controls activity.
- Contribute to driving and leading a positive safety culture within MPD projects and ensuring their team is invested in managing and improving HSE performance.
- Contribute to equality of opportunity, social inclusion, fair employment and environmental sustainability, creating open, inclusive and engaging environment within MPD and across stakeholders, customers and supply chain.

**Skills, Knowledge & Experience**

**Knowledge**
- Knowledge of and understanding of capital projects and programmes with an emphasis on Project Controls and how this supports and integrates with a wider high functioning environment.
- Awareness of project planning, risk management, change control, and basic cost management.
- Knowledge and understanding of planning and scheduling tools and techniques, standards and processes in a project management setting.
- An understanding of TfL project and programme management methodologies and processes.
- Good knowledge of various computer packages related to project management and or planning and scheduling.

**Skills**
- Good influencing skills to manage and embed Project Controls methodology and process in support of delivery of high risk, value and complex project and programmes.
- Specific technical skills include: Information Mangement and Reporting, Stakeholder Management, Budgeting and Cost Management and Attention to detail

**Experience**
- Experience of adapting and monitoring process around Project Controls in major projects & portfolios.
- Experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing improving processes to support project delivery.
- Experience with programme, risk, commercial controls and pricing experience with associated management level status
- Experience using of MS Excel & other MS software packages.
