**Hours**:Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week.
**About the role**:
We are looking for a Research Lead to help develop and implement the charity’s research strategy, focused on improving care and education for those impacted by trauma across a range of settings. Our work is both national and international and we work across residential, educational, youth and criminal justice, as well as child and adult health & social care settings. The role includes managing and developing research programs, building relationships with funders, and ensuring impactful outcomes across key sectors.

**Responsibilities**:
- Lead the development and implementation of Mulberry Bush’s research strategy.
- Create a best-practice research culture.
- Identify and secure research funding.
- Design and manage high-quality research programs.
- Present research findings to stakeholders and publish results.
- Build and maintain relationships with key policymakers, service providers, and research institutions.
- Stay updated on policy, research developments, and innovative evaluation methods.
- Develop the research team and manage the Archive.
- Collaborate with department heads and other organisations to promote research and identify future opportunities.
- Oversee Mulberry Bush data and contribute to the charity’s data strategy.
- Lead the development of the Mulberry Bush Social Emotional Adjustment (SEA) Scale.
- Create research resources and courses.
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures.

**About you**:
- Proven experience in research projects, strong project coordination and staff development skills.
- Proficient in conducting research, sharing findings, delivering outputs and accessing funding.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills.
- Skilled in designing evidence-based research methods.
- Strong communication, organisational, and planning skills.
- Able to work independently and solve problems proactively.
- Skilled in writing and speaking to varied audiences.
- Understanding of current policy in children’s care, education, youth justice, and social care.
- Knowledge of project management and performance frameworks.
- Familiarity with intellectual property and copyright in research.
**Qualifications**
- Post-graduate degree or equivalent
**About the Mulberry Bush**:
The Mulberry Bush is a therapeutic community, registered as a children’s home and a non-maintained residential special school. We also provide therapeutic outreach services to schools and other community-based organisations, along with research and consultancy services. Since 1948, we’ve been helping to transform the lives of children who have experienced trauma with specialist therapeutic services and fulfilling activities.
