Our client, an NHS Foundation Trust based in London is looking to appoint an interim Head of Employee Relations to join their team for 3-month interim role:

- Providing leadership to the People Division colleagues involved in ER work and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Developing Leadership ER capability and competency across the trust building a consistent approach to HR management in a just and learning culture through the provision of insightful data and the development of a robust development programme and materials
- Play a lead role with the Chief People Officer and Deputy in developing the partnership relationship with staff side and setting partnership goals
- To work closely with the divisions to collectively ensure an effective HR and ER service is provided to the trust thereby ensuring the provision of legally compliant HR practice excellence through managing and mitigating workforce risks effectively
- To take the lead strategic role on specific ER projects, work programmes and initiatives, including HR management in a ‘just and learning culture’, People Strategy, employment law, policy development, Staff Side Partnership working and major workforce transformation projects
- To seek continuous improvement in all areas of activity
- Oversee development, reporting and administration of a central ER Tracking system, case management software to support effective ER (KPIs) and identify trends from a cultural and/or EDI perspective
- Case management of complex formal cases e.g. cases going to tribunals or requiring NHSE / Treasury approval
- Primary client for the Trust's retained Employment Lawyers
- Supporting the Trust in preparation for Employee Tribunals
- Co-ordinate trade union / staff rep side engagement with relevant employee relations cases and change management
- Senior Employee Relations experience within the public sector
- Be able to start immediately (if not a 1-2-week notice will suffice)
- Be able to travel to trust sites across London 3 days per week
