Safeguarding Adult Advisor

Band 7 (or band 6 development opportunity) - Full-time 37.5 hour per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals, with experience in adult safeguarding, to join our dynamic and growing Safeguarding Adult Team at Croydon University Hospital.

This post can be offered as a Band 7 but we would welcome interest from Band 6 practitioners who have a keen interest in the adult safeguarding agenda, with the scope and potential to develop their career in this area of practice.

As a Band 6 developmental opportunity, you will be fully supported to fulfil competencies which will enable you to progress to Band 7. You will work under the guidance of the Safeguarding Adult Advisor with a year-long comprehensive programme specifically designed to support practice development. If successful in achieving all required competencies, you will progress to a Safeguarding Adult Advisor Post.

As a Band 7 you will be able to undertake further professional development to support you in your future career progression.

Either way, the post holder will be a valued member of the Croydon Health Integrated Safeguarding Team (CHIST) and help contribute to the “think family” agenda.

- As a development post, the Safeguarding Adult Support Officer will complete the agreed programme of learning which will support the development of expertise in this specialist area of practice
- Working with the Named Professional Safeguarding Adults and the Safeguarding Adult Advisors, who will provide advice and guidance on safeguarding adults issues
- Work in partnership with CHIST colleagues across Acute and Community sites, supporting all CHS colleagues in safeguarding matters
- Support the development, delivery and evaluation of education and training programmes for CHS employees which will reflect best practice in all matters relating to safeguarding including (but not exhaustively), mental capacity and deprivation of liberty safeguards, harmful practices, domestic abuse and sexual violence, modern slavery, prevent and wrap
- Monitor compliance and report anomalies with training requirements to Safeguarding Adults Named Professional
- Maintain standards of conduct to sustain public confidence in accordance with directives and CHS Trust Values and Behaviours
- Promote a professional image at all times and be accountable for own clinical practice
- Act in a professional manner at all times.
