1. **PURPOSE OF JOB**

To complete projects by planning and organising site activities with members of the contracting team in accordance with job sheet instructions. To operate Shotblasters, planers, grinders and tile strippers. To complete works to the highest of standards in accordance with safe working practices. To work co-operatively with all members of the team to ensure site works are delivered in fastidiously and timely including liaising with customers courteously on site and over the telephone as deemed necessary.

2. **PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- To obtain instructions on a day by day basis as to projects to be delivered.
- To receive the job sheet instructions and to review and assess these ahead of the site visit.
- To work in accordance with and to understand driver’s hours, EU legislation, working time directives, health and safety policies and the law at all times.
- To ensure that all equipment required for the job is loaded onto your truck prior to leaving the yard each day and to ensure that sufficient supplies are in place to enable the safe and timely delivery of the project.
- To travel to site in a safe manner and to liaise with relevant site manager upon arrival at the site.
- To clearly identify variances on site as they occur to the original plan and to implement corrective actions in order to deliver the project. To provide constructive feedback to the Contracts Manager in respect of these processes on an ongoing basis.
- To conduct vehicle checks on a daily basis (walk arounds) in accordance with company policy, reporting defects to the Contracts Manager each day and week as directed. To download digital tachograph card daily.
- To conduct plant checks on a daily basis in accordance with company policies, reporting defects to the Workshop daily to enable appropriate repairs to be completed in a timely manner with mínimal disruption to the business operations.
- To complete Daily Record Sheets for all work completed on sites and any other H&S documentation in accordance with company procedures.
- To demonstrate ongoing and improved competence in the operation, maintenance & repair of equipment to include correct selection of accessories and tools.
- To attend training courses as required to improve your skills and knowledge as required by the company.
- To provide guidance and training to apprentices and labourers, providing feedback to management and Directors.
- To have knowledge and understanding of safe working practices and standards in all areas associated with the company’s contracting activities and to adhere to such.
- To enhance the company’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different tasks.
- Any other activities as required in accordance with the needs of the business.

3. **KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE**

Having a 7.5 tonne driving licence would be an advantage but not essential. Wages are negotiable if you have experience in the industry.

**Salary**: £10.50-£12.50 per hour
