**Do you want to work on the front line of electricity, controlling National Grid’s Transmission System from our state of the art control centre? Do you have a background in Power Systems Engineering, Electricity or Physics?**

Then this could be the role for you. The Transmission Network Control Centre (TNCC) is truly on the front line of what we do. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the team responsible for the real-time operation of the National Electricity Transmission System managing everything from routine maintenance to storms and wildfires across all of England and Wales.

Playing a pivotal role in ensuring that the network is managed effectively and supporting delivery of planned work, you will implement the system outage plan, respond to site alarms, and facilitate critical maintenance of our assets. In-depth training is provided and you will need to achieve the correct authorisation level before being assigned responsibilities in the TNCC. We provide a bespoke training programme utilising a realistic simulation of the entire Transmission System, giving you the confidence and support needed to carry out this critical role.

This role is based at National Grid House in Warwick and requires you to work on a shift rota pattern (hours between 7am to 7pm and currently 1 weekend in 4) published well in advance to allow for work-life balance. Therefore, the role attracts a shift allowance on top of base salary.

**What you'll need**:
You'll have the ability to work in a process orientated environment ensuring we carry out our role with a fierce focus on safety. You’ll have good logical, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and be organised.

You’ll ideally have a power systems background with experience in a control room or other relevant operations or engineering experience, you’ll also have a good understanding of transmission network operation and basic analysis techniques.

A competitive salary of £39, 500 - £59,600 dependant on capability (inclusive of shift allowance)
