**Job overview**:
This is an exciting time to join our Children's Neurodevelopmental Service in the lovely county of Cornwall; the team consists of nurses, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists and neurodevelopmental practitioners who offer assessments and support for young people and families throughout the county. The main focus of the service currently is in carrying out neurodevelopmental assessments of children and young people up to the age of 18 (mainly looking at autism and ADHD, but also considering other neurodevelopmental and mental health presentations) and offering advice and recommendations to them and their families.
Cornwall is embarking on a system wide transformation of our neurodevelopmental offer. This includes at an early help stage, the introduction of a neurodevelopmental profiling tool. This will look at individual differences, strengths and needs and will be aligned to an offer of support, advice and early intervention that young people and their families and professionals can access. Diagnostic activity will continue to be offered as part of this support. Working with our partners, the ND assessment team will provide expert advice, support and training to families and schools and other services and contribute to the development of the intervention offer.
**Main duties of the job**:
This is an exciting time to be joining Children's Services in Cornwall as we grow and develop as a Division within the Trust. We work very closely with our CAMHS colleagues and wider multi-agency colleagues.
We can provide regular supervision and opportunities for development and will meet any training needs that are required in the role e.g. ADOS training.
The post holder will be required to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide appropriate assessments that will inform diagnostic decision making and provide recommendations and advice on completion of the assessment. As the neurodiversity strategy develops, the post holder will be involved in providing consultation, training and short term interventions to young people and families.
As a speech and Language Therapist you will bring your professional expertise, knowledge and experience of children's speech language and communication to our multidis
