**About us**

Wessex Grounds Services is a friendly, medium sized business. This role is based from our Weymouth depot on the Granby Industrial Estate. Teams work across Dorset/Somerset area using company vehicles where you will join one of our teams. We are professional, agile, and our goal is to provide a friendly, loyal, skilled, local grounds maintenance/gardening service.

We are looking for a keen, reliable individual to undertake work in the Weymouth/West Dorset area to help out with the gardening teams. The hours of work are 7.30 am - 4.00 pm Tuesday - Friday (with option to work Full time to cover Monday is this is preferred).

**Ideally we are looking for someone with experience in gardening/grounds maintenance however we are still interested to hear from individuals who are keen to work outside in all weathers, are reliable and have a willingness to learn and work hard, essentially good with practical work.**

**Duties involve**
- Grass cutting
- Strimming/hedge cutting
- Raking and edging
- Weeding
- Gardening
- Sweeping
- Litter Picking
- Leaf collection
- Chemical Application
- Driving and operating a wide range of vehicles
- Safely use, maintain and clean grounds and horticultural equipment including hand tools, strimmers, hedge-cutters, pedestrian and ride on mowers, and any other machinery required to undertake allocated tasks
- Periodically assist with horticultural operations such as planting, pruning and maintenance of trees, shrubs and other gardening tasks as required
- Work in a tidy and safe manner so as not to put oneself or others at risk
- Follow company and school policies
- Portray a professional image of WGS at all times
- Timely completion of company paperwork and documentation
- Attend staff training when required
- Undertake other duties that are required by the business

**Physical Effort and Working Environment**
- This role involves travelling, using ride-on mower, powered tools, i.e. strimmer on a daily basis, digging, planting, unloading and loading equipment/tools/materials. The work is outdoors all year round, and work will take place in all weather. Personal protective equipment will be provided.

**ALL JOB ROLES ARE SUBJECT TO ENHANCED DBS CHECKS**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 32 per week
