The Bureau of Investigative Journalism is looking for a talented AI reporter to join our expanding Big Tech team. We seek someone who can uncover the human impacts of AI. This is an excellent opportunity to have the time and space to expose wrongdoing and injustice in this area.

**About the role**

We’re looking for a compelling storyteller who understands artificial intelligence and can demonstrate a track record of breaking stories with human voices at their heart.

**Desired skills and experience**:

- Demonstrable knowledge of the tech sector and AI
- Experience leading complex journalistic projects and delivering accurate stories within an agreed timescale and scope
- A track record of landing agenda-setting stories and investigations
- Diverse contacts in the field of tech/AI
- Excellent written skills, having published news stories, explainers and longer form stories.
- The ability to communicate via social media, in particular to be happy to make short-form summaries of your investigations for YouTube, TikTok and Instagram
- A solid understanding of media law and journalistic ethics, including source protection
- Confidence in making decisions in consultation with editors and other colleagues
- An approach that encompasses teamwork and collaboration
- Ability and desire to support team members in their investigations

**Additional desirable experience and skills for this role may include**:

- Broadcast and/or public speaking experience
- Data journalism skills
- Mentoring
