We have an exciting opportunity for a superstar PR Account Director to join a proactive, dynamic marketing agency. The office is based in Reading but they offer working from home.
About the role
To be successful in this role, you'll need to be an experienced PR professional with several years' experience in this field. You'll work directly with an Account Manager, owning a few client accounts between the two of you. As part of this, you'll be in awider team of PR professionals, made up of Account Managers and Account Directors where you can bounce ideas off one another, share best practice and utilise one another's knowledge to help get the best results for your clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the account and taking ownership of all activity on the account, including quality of work, communications, delivery timelines etc.
- Get under the skin of our client's business and their objectives, ensuring our activity aligns closely with this and you can demonstrate the value we deliver
- Be knowledgeable and passionate about our client, their business, keeping up to date with their competitors and the wider industry landscape
- Ensure account profitability and spotting any opportunities to up or cross sell our clients with additional PR or marketing activity to help meet their objectives
- Raising any concerns with the Comms Team Lead proactively, discussing approaches to pre-empt or mitigate any challenges to maintain client satisfaction
- Mentor your Account Manager to evaluate their work and offer constructive feedback to improve for future
- Write achievable, measurable PR strategies and craft story narratives, selling this into your client and executing on the plan with the help of your Account Manager
- Actively pitch media targets and work with journalists to secure opportunities
- Write a variety of content, including of a technical nature when required
- Monitor account performance in line with our contractual service level agreement and proactively come up with new ideas or solutions to ensure we're hitting our targets.
You should be a confident and articulate communicator with a proactive and solution focused approach. It's your responsibility to ensure we're delivering for our clients and to have the foresight to pre-empt any issues before they occur.
We have a variety of PR clients, many of whom have worked with us for years. In addition to our long-standing accounts, we have taken on a number of new clients this year and need an extra pair of hands to keep everything running smoothly. Most of our clientsare headquartered in North America, and come to us to build their brand awareness in the UK.
In an ideal world, we'd love you to also have experience in B2B tech and have some awareness of cybersecurity, big data, business intelligence, cloud and databases. This B2B tech experience isn't mandatory, but you've got to be up to the challenge. Our clientswork in a highly technical industry, and to do well in this role and earn our clients trust, you're going to have to learn your NoSQL database from your Zero Trust security.
Minimum requirements
- Minimum four years' experience in public relations. Additional experience in the realm of B2B technology would be amazing too
- Experienced at leading an agency-client relationship, handling difficult conversations internally and externally and problem solving
- Fluent English speaker, with strong written and oral communication skills
- Willing to travel to our Reading office occasionally - most of the team try to meet there once a week and while this isn't mandatory, we'd love to see you from time to time
