Here at Bromford our purpose is to invest in homes and relationships so people can thrive. We believe it is our customer’s basic right to have a home that is safe, secure and warm. We will not compromise on ensuring our homes are all of this and more. We want to provide homes that customers are proud to live in, that work for them and their family and are the springboard they need to achieve their aspirations - not a barrier. We currently own 45,000 homes, housing over 100,000 customers across Central and Southwest England.
As a Fire Risk and Compliance Assessor, you will ensure we follow legal standards, regulatory requirements and in-house policies relating to fire safety. You will be responsible for identifying fire hazards and risks, recording, and reporting your findings and advising on fire safety. You will also carry out the duty to manage inspections relating to asbestos to inform management decisions. Your role will help us to provide warm, safe, and secure homes where customers can thrive.
You will be carrying out post-inspections on remedial works, ensuring they meet agreed standards and specifications, pre-handover fire risk assessments on new build homes, asbestos duty to manage inspections in line with regulations and in-house policies. You will take responsibility for your own personal and professional development, ensuring you stay up to date on all fire risk and asbestos duty to manage training. With that, you will provide technical support and advice to your team, colleagues and customers, keeping up to date with changes in relevant policy and legislation to ensure delivery is effective and compliant. You will work with fire services and managers to develop, amend, and implement fire safety plans.
You will ensure full and accurate records are maintained, demonstrating compliance with legislation, guidance, and policy. You will work closely with Neighbourhood Coaches to ensure customers understand fire safety and take action to remove fire risk, carry out minor fire-related remedial works, advising on appropriate controls to reach and maintain compliance.
You will support and advise on improvement plans for areas of non-compliance, support the production and review of aligned compliance policies, procedures, and processes, and provide validated performance information and assurance to your leader. You will support internal and external audits, ensuring actions are complete within timescales and findings are communicated with teams. Carry out stock condition surveys, and support the wider compliance team and leaders, as required.
