**THE ROLE**

As an Engineering Policy Manager, you will be responsible for setting and monitoring technical policies and standards across SGN’s gas distribution business. This role includes: ensuring technical policies, procedures and specifications remain fit for purpose;reviewing and implementing best practice and suggestions for business improvement; approval of new products for use on the gas network; coordination of field trials, and; participating in and influencing relevant industry forums.

**Key responsibilities include;**
- Using engineering judgement to assess technical options
- Creating and updating specifications and procedures
- Understanding the impact of policy change on different roles and departments
- Creating effective communication and implementation plans for policy changes
- Ensuring human factors and other appropriate risk impacts are considered
- Looking to the future to ensure our policies support SGNs strategic goals

**WHAT YOU’LL BRING**
- Asset or operational management knowledge and experience of Gas Transmission & Plant
- You will need good written and verbal communication skills
- You will need to be able to interpret technical requirements and communicate them so they can be understood and implemented by others.
- You will be an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer, or willing to work towards this.
- Able to carry out impact and risk assessments.
