This is an exciting role for an Equipment Management Professional to deliver Clinical Engineering support for a wide of range of medical devices on site at Princes Royal University Hospital in Orpington. Working for our client you will advise on technicaland clinical matters relating to the management of these medical devices and medical equipment. You will manage a team of Engineers, Library Technicians and onsite administrator.

As the EBME Manager you will have the following responsibilities
- Lead responsibility for the development and implementation of arrangements, policy and process development and quality systems relating to medical devices across the company.
- Responsible for review and updating of existing procedures and developing a more robust system for all aspects of clinical equipment management.
- Responsible for line management and supervision of engineers and library technicians on site, setting objectives, appraisals, planning the work schedule and supporting/mentoring as appropriate with full support of Site Service Manager.
- Responsible for service delivery of prompt, high quality and professional engineering support to a broad range of medical equipment including a medical equipment library.
- Ensuring equipment management good practices are implemented and followed, including planned and reactive maintenance, asset lifecycle management and service contract monitoring.
- Supervise and take responsibility for investigation of incidents involving medical devices
- Take the lead role in liaison with MHRA, CQC, NHS LA and other regulators and implement procedures to comply as required
- Responsible for audit of clinical equipment, database content and keeping records up to date
- Attend the Medical Devices Committees and other Trust meetings as required
- Any other relevant duty that assists in the smooth operation and delivery of the service
- Support the Service Manager and deputise as required

As the EBME Manager you will need the following:

- 8 years + Clinical Equipment Management
- Essential - HND Electronics or equivalent
- Computer literate (Windows) to include Microsoft Office
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent Influencing and negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Detailed up-to-date knowledge of managing a wide range of medical equipment, including technical understanding
- Worked with senior NHS clinical staff
- Specification of medical equipment
- Extensive knowledge of MHRA DB2006 (05) and associated documents
- Exceptional levels of personal responsibility
- Strong aptitude for dealing with ambiguity, maturity, resilience and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- People management skills: persuasion, negotiation and appropriate authoritative influence
