**The Role**:
The Assistant Accountant will work under the direction of the Executive Director in providing both support and challenge in all financial areas and organise our company’s day-to-day accounting procedures:
- Enter invoices and matching them with POs
- PO management
- Supplier ageing report analysis and management
- Daily Bank Reconciliations
- Getting relevant approval and BACS payments
- Raising Sales invoices and Credit control
- Expenses analysis for VAT purposes
- Job costing analysis
- Credit card, Fuel card and Agency staffs
- Relevant control account reconciliations and management such as Fixed assets, accruals, and Prepayments etc
- Credit card analysis and reconciliations
- Post relevant journals on to the system
- Assisting month closure and resolve queries
- Sales reconciliation and accrued income analysis at month ends
- Assist during Audit preparation
- Sub-contractor analysis
- Assist in payroll preparation and journal posting
- Assist in preparation of Monthly Management Accounts and Board reports
- Assist in Budget, forecast preparation
- Prepare Treasury report at Month ends
- Help explore innovative solutions to improve the Finance department, reviewing policies, procedures, and the whole Finance system.
- Liaison with different departmental heads across the Organisation
- Any Ad hoc tasks within the Business
**Desirable skills**:
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position or in the Finance department
- AAT level 4 or CIMA Part qualified or equivalent
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain accuracy
- Capable of prioritising workload
- Previous experience of working in a busy environment
- Understanding of key financial documents and controls.
- Good understanding of bookkeeping procedures
- Time-management and organisation skills
- Confidentiality
- Solid verbal and written communications skills
- You'll be a team player and be happy to pick up responsibilities/participate in projects ad hoc
- Flexibility and adaptability to ensure business needs are met, as requested by the Management Team
