**QHSE Manager - Longport, Stoke on Trent**
An exciting opportunity has arisen at our Electro-Motive Diesel Depot in Longport for a QHSE Manager.
Progress Rail - Electro Motive Diesel is a subsidiary of Caterpillar, specialized in manufacturing, maintaining and overhauling diesel-electric locomotives across the world.
This is a regional role managing a significant agenda across our UK and European depots, ideal for an experienced QHSE professional seeking to hone their influencing skills and add an international dimension to their scope. Reporting to the Engineering &Production Director you will be instrumental in developing and implementing a business-wide Quality & EHS strategy that successfully integrates into the culture of the business.
You will have gravitas as a Quality assurance and EHS professional in a significant 'blue collar’ organization ideally with a Rail or Engineering / Manufacturing background.
**The Role includes**
- Develop and implement the Annual QHSE Plan & Audit Programme
- Develop and maintain a set of QHSE KPIs and performance standards across the business, with focus on prevention and risk reduction
- Provide proactive expert advice to the executive team on all QSHE related issues, including safety critical responsibilities, to inform the executive's decision-making process.
- Attend and contribute at Management Team Meetings to ensure a cohesive and joined up approach is being delivered by the overall business.
- Develop clear QSHE accountability for all levels in the organization; Sustain a positive and proactive EHS culture within
- Execute operational plans in line with overall Quality Assurance Policy and process.
- Lead the maintenance of RISQS (Rail industry supplier quality scheme), Sentinel & CIRAS (Confidential reporting) accreditations for the Company.
- Develop H&S campaigns, H&S competence assessments and training to promote awareness and increase compliance
- Coach, inspire & effectively develop a team of 3 Quality & H&S advisors through a range of motivational and management tools
**What we would like you to bring**:
- Proven track record of operating in QHSE at a senior level in a manufacturing / production industry - ideally Rail.
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of the Rail industry and Rail Regulators Office Standards.
- Critical Thinking / Rational & logical decision making, Collaboration & influencing skills
- Building ownership and commitment
- Results orientation & Self-Starter
- Professional and positive attitude with a high standard of work ethics
- Systematic, structured, Effective Leader
**Essential Qualifications**:
- Educated to degree level, equivalent professional qualification, or relevant industrial experience
- NEBOSH Dip or HSE Qualification of a similar level.
- Competent Auditor (ISO)
