Montagne Jeunesse is a UK based Cosmetics company specialising in fast moving, mass market, natural, vegetarian skincare for 30 years with distribution channels in over 85 countries

We now have an excellent opportunity for an innovative Development Chemist based in Horsham and liaising with our colleagues in Port Talbot, who has experience in cosmetics or health and beauty formulations. You will have a creative approach and bring innovativethinking and ideas and be experienced in skin care products, ideally including face masks. Your talent for creating wonderful products which are both effective and attractive to the customer will be matched by your extensive knowledge of raw materials andingredients.

Experience in developing organic or natural products will be particularly beneficial.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare lab batches for products to be applied to existing ranges and use innovative ideas to create exceptional products to develop into new ranges.
- Develop products against briefs.
- Enter data onto Formulation Development Database (Creativity).
- Contact suppliers for technical information and samples.
- Maintain records of work in lab books and keep lab books in good order.
- Carry out stability studies.
- Type up and store QC data, compile reports to be used within Product Information Files.
- Raise Purchase Orders.
- Check that formulations are correct to then issue for manufacturing purposes.
- Supervise the manufacture of batches at contract manufacturers.
- Liaise closely with the Regulatory Department to ensure compliance of products being developed.

**Requirements**:

- Will have a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science or a similar discipline.
- Will have strong attention to detail and ability to document and record the progress of projects.
- Experience of having worked within the Cosmetics Industry and a strong knowledge of raw materials used.
- Will have a track record in having applied innovative ideas to new products and ranges.
- Knowledge and experience of Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009.

Personally you will have a positive can do approach to work, and a flexibility to adapt to changing demands and priorities, the ability to organise, manage and plan own and others workload proactively and effectively, good interpersonal skills and the abilityto liaise and work with people at all levels and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

As well as being experienced, you must be a self-starter and team player, must be able to work well with little supervision and exhibit team player qualities of cooperation and coordination in a fast-paced busy environment.

Occasional travel will be required in the UK visiting suppliers and our Office, based in South Wales.
