**Holly Corner Kindergarten** rated Good by Ofsted providing care for children from 3 months - 5 years are seeking a **Nursery Assistant**to come and join the team. The nursery can have up to 37 children per day across 3 rooms, this position will be based in the baby room with up to 9 children and working alongside 2 other members of staff.

This role is working 40 hours per week, various shifts patterns between the opening and closing times of the nursery 8:00am-18:00pm. This nursery is open all year round and is not a term time only role. You will need to have childcare experience but formal qualifications are not required. Within this role you will be responsible for a designated group of children as a key person and will guide the children through the daily routine, liaise with parents and provide an enabling environment.

**Salary**: £17,888 - 23,795.20 per annum

**As Nursery Assistant, you will**:

- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times
- Understand the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS and staff:child ratios
- Provide engaging and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
- Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent
- Observe and support children’s development, update the EyLog system and children’s learning journals with accuracy and relevance, and seek guidance from colleagues or Room Leader if in doubt
- Provide the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development

**As Nursery Assistant, you will need**:

- Undertaking a full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification - desirable
- Fluent in written and spoken English - essential
- Over 6 months experience of working in Early Years - essential
- Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable
