**The Company**
We are the food travel experts. So, what does that mean? It means that we are experts in creating and running food outlets in locations where people are on the move. Whether it’s jetting off somewhere more exotic, getting on a train or stopping off at a motorway service area, we will make sure the food and drink on offer is the ideal selection to meet the needs of the many different types of travellers.

Globally, we now operate in 36 countries worldwide at around 600+ sites, and we have an extensive portfolio of more than 500 international, national, local and speciality brands. These include our own brands, such as Upper Crust, Ritazza and Camden food co. as well as brands we franchise, including M&S, Starbucks, and Burger King. We’ve also work with several famous chefs, including Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey, to create bespoke brands.

Prior to the onset of Covid-19, we served around one and a half million customers every day across our airport, rail, and motorway services sites. SSP responded rapidly to Covid-19, taking extensive action to protect its people, raise additional liquidity and reduce its cost base. These actions, together with the successful Rights Issue in April this year leaves the business strongly placed to capitalise on the recovery of the travel sector.

**The Role**
- The newly formed Group Customer Team’s purpose is to provide support and challenge to the regional teams to ensure the business is putting the needs of our customers at the heart of our decisions.
- A new role is now available, reporting to the Portfolio Commercial Director, to support the team to fulfil this purpose.
- As a key member of the Group Customer Team the role supports the business to identify, help deliver and manage the optimal portfolio of brands that secure profitable contract renewals and new business, excite consumers and deliver profitable sales.
- The role is an exciting opportunity to work with a varied and dynamic number of brand partners in conjunction with business development teams around the world.

**CONTEXT**
- SSP has a diverse portfolio of over 500 brands that covers SSP own brands, bespoke concepts and brand partners that include international brands and local heroes.
- These brands span a wide range of categories including coffee shops, grab & go, bakery, fast food, bars, restaurants and convenience stores.
- This diverse range of categories and brands is due to the scope of where we operate and the various customer segments and clients we cater for, which varies due to several factors including:

- Different travel channels: airports, stations and motorway service areas.
- The breadth of countries where SSP operates requiring different cuisine styles.
- Varied reasons for passenger journeys and dwell time: leisure, commuting and business which may be domestic or international travel.
- The expansive and varied customer needs create complexity which we manage by carefully determining the right brand for the right place in the right format.
- The Group Head of Brand Partner Portfolio will play a key role in supporting the Group and territory teams to manage this brand selection, manage existing key brand partnerships and to help secure new brands where there are gaps in our portfolio.
- They will also work with the Regions to ensure brand guidelines and governance area adhered to.

Brand Portfolio
- Support brand portfolio reviews with each territory to establish the optimal portfolio to win business
- Work with team to review the existing territory portfolio and identify core brands to retain
- Review pipeline and identify potential brands to fill gaps
- Monitor, track and report forthcoming new brand developments across the Group

Brand Partners - Existing
- Manage on-going brand partner relationships for designated brand(s)
- Manage relationship to enable / unlock agreement for commercial teams to deliver commercial plans
- Secure brand access for new markets or sites, as applicable
