Support Worker
**Why not start a rewarding new career in social care? No experience necessary: we'll train you.**
You will provide invaluable support to 17 individuals living either in their own flats or sharing a huge house in Emsworth. So what would you be doing? Who better to tell you than the people we support. We asked them what they want from their new support worker. Here's what they had to say.
Things that are important to us about our Support Workers:
- Talk to me / treat me like an adult
- Get to know me, what I like and what I don't.
- I like friendly people who enjoy a good laugh.
- Be patient, give me time to think and explain what I'm thinking.
- I don't like being told what to do but I like people who give me suggestions and ideas so I can chose.
Support me to ;
- Go out daily and have fun. I like the cinema, day trips, the beach or sometimes I just want a coffee.
- Be as independent as possible.
- Remember to do my housework, remind be but in a nice way.
- Feel safe and calm if I am feeling anxious or upset.
Things you need to know about us:
- We are all very different.
- We get along with each other but at times, like all families we might have disagreements.
- One thing we all agree on is we all like to have fun and keep busy.
- We would like to have staff that are fun loving and would enjoy supporting us to live a varied and fulfilled life.
We are hoping new staff might have new ideas on things we might like to do
As you've probably worked out they are full of life and fun to be with, could you support them to lead lives that make sense to them?
There are full and part-time roles available working shifts on a rota basis to include days, evenings, nights and weekends.
