Communication and Engagement Representative
1 week ago
**About us**:
Wifinity was founded in 2007 to solve a problem—our armed forces were struggling with reliable connectivity. While living in barracks, often in remote locations, ordering a landline and booking in an engineer just wasn’t an option.
And that problem isn’t exclusive to the military, either. Students living in University accommodation, families visiting holiday resorts, or living in shared accommodation and retirement communities.
Conventional home broadband doesn’t always work for them.
Wifinity is different. We offer the same benefits as traditional broadband, such as super-fast speeds, WiFi, and secure and private networks, but none of the downsides. We even offer Pay As You Go and flexible contracts, so customers only pay for what they need without hefty penalties or long contract terms.
We take the complexity out of connectivity.
**The opportunity**:
This role requires extensive UK travel. The successful applicant can expect to be on the road 4/5 days week, but will have fully autonomy when it comes to managing your calendar.
The Communications and engagement representative will support Wifinity’s commercial aims by playing a key role in the organisation of marketing and engagement events, promoting Wifinity’s services, drive user uptake and be the primary interface with end-users on-site. These include launch events, industry expos, tradeshows, welcome stands, Go-Live events, etc.
**Key areas of focus**:
Joining the marketing team you will be required to support a wide range of work, to ensure that marketing activities are executed on time and to budget.
Working under the direction of the communications and engagement manager, you will work with a range of stakeholders across the business to:
- Extensive (4/5 days a week) travelling to customer sites around the country
- Maintaining a strategic forward look of events and supporting new site launches and attending promotional events
- Promoting our services directly to and providing hands-on support and advise to end users
- Ensuring marketing material is in place / effective
- Coordinate calendar of events, including drafting/updating visit schedules, Wifinity representatives, marketing material requirements
- Liaising with the various on-site management and our customers’ staff, marketing/sales team, and others involved in events/engagements
- Various research, data or insight gathering tasks on markets or customers
- Collating customer and end-user insight and feedback
- You may be required to carry out further responsibilities at the company's discretion.
**About you**:
You will be an enthusiastic person who is willing to get stuck in, pick up a range of practical tasks and make sure they are completed on time and to budget. You will want to learn more about communications and/or marketing as a discipline, and will embrace this opportunity to work in supporting the rest of the team to gain direct, hands-on experience in communications/marketing yourself.
You will have strong organisational and communication skills, the ability to multitask and have excellent sense of time management. You will be able to prioritise flexibly and the ability to work collaboratively within a busy team.
You'll need to bring:
- Good customer service skills
- Demonstrable desire to learn and start a career in the communications and engagement field
- Confident communication and accurate drafting and writing ability
- Strong people skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to prioritise flexibly and use own initiative to deliver to tight deadlines
- Willingness to work to frequent and tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work
It would be nice to also have, but not essential:
- Some previous experience of working in a corporate environment or marketing-related role
- Previous event management experience
- A communications/marketing-related qualification or modules related to communications/marketing in a wider discipline.
