Base Supervisor

The Medrescue Group is a Paramedic led Independent Ambulance Service, we work in partnership with the NHS to provide Emergency & Non-Emergency Ambulance Services across the UK. We are currently seeking a Base Supervisor working in our Northern Hub in Heywood.
The Base Supervisor is a key member of the Operations team, and as such will be responsible for overseeing the workflow of day-to-day operations. Under the direction of the Senior Leadership Team, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality management of the Ambulance Services, including for example fleet, estates, equipment etc.
**Responsibilities**:
- The post holder's primary role is to manage staff and oversee the safe running of the ambulance services operating from the base.
- You will be responsible for organising staff rotas, ensuring that the rotas are sufficiently well planned to meet service demands including short notice sickness cover and resilliance planning to meet fluctuating demands
- Answer calls and deal with staff and service user queries
- Procurement of medical and general supplies from preferred suppliers.
- Provide support to all staff within the base.
- Attend monthly clinical and operational meetings with the management team and NHS partners.
- The post holder will be office based for administration and meetings but will be required to travel within any of the company's sites in line with needs of the business.
- Line Manage staff with the support of the Workforce Manager
- Working with appropriate clinical leads, training department and operations teams to deliver inductions, SOP’s, Directives and operational updates for the development of staff as required.
- Actively participate in undertaking operational audits, working with the Leadership Team team disseminate audit findings and actively leading the implementation of changes to protocol and/or procedure.
- Lead and manage the processes, which ensure the principles of operational requirements are embedded in practice and assist with audits and appraisals of all team members.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle repair and maintenance, maintain cleaning and deep clean records in accordance with policy and CQC requirements
- To assist in operational investigations when required reporting to the Senior Leadership team as appropriate.
- Conduct routine drug audits as requested
- Provide support to the Operational and Clinical Governance team when requested.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and organised base to support the crews in a timely dispatch to duty and in line with the CQC requirements
- To work to the values and support the delivery of patient-centred care, displaying high standards of integrity and professionalism towards clients and colleagues.
**About You**:
**To be succesful in this role you will need to have demonstrable experience in Rota scheduling and operations, you will need to be confident in working in a busy role with changing priorities and be able to prioritise your workload. Experience working in an ambulance service or healthcare environment is preferred but not essential.**
This role is based on a 3 on 3 off shift pattern working 08:00 - 20:00 at the Heywood Base. You will also be required to be part of an on call rota.
**Salary**: £20,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
