**Shift Supervisor**

**Our client is a leading global producer of industrial minerals,** **founded in 1884 in Switzerland, they have a global presence extending to more than 160 locations in over 50 countries with 9,000 employees.**

They are now recruiting for a Shift Supervisor to supervise and operate the production process to ensure customer requirements are met whilst maintaining the required standards for health and safety, quality (including FEMAS), environment, productivity, efficiency, cost and timeliness.

**Responsibilities**:

- To **supervise** **the production shift team** in the safe and efficient operation of their duties so as to meet customer demand and to re-deploy the team and alter the plans, as necessary, to cope with unplanned equipment failures, product spillages, unplanned customer demand changes and other similar events.
- To **operate** **the production plant and equipment** to meet customer demand and standards for health and safety, productivity, quality, environment, accuracy, cost and timeliness.
- To **fill 25kg and FIBC bags** to meet customer demand and standards for health and safety, productivity, quality, environment, accuracy, cost and timeliness.
- To **load bagged vehicles** with the correct product, in good condition and completed documentation. To **unload and store** **consumables** (pallets, paper sacks etc.).
- To **manage the site in the absence the Plant Management** (generally weekends, weekday evenings and nights) including security tours, handling out-of-hours customer requirements in order to meet given production objectives and customer demand.
- To **complete the necessary day-to-day documentation** (Daily Production/Shift Log, Down time log, Work requests, Environmental Logbook, internal documentation, etc.) to the required standards of accuracy and timeliness.
- To **sample and carry out physical and chemical tests** on products and to the standards and frequencies specified within the Quality System and record results in LIMS. Take action to rectify quality problems.
- To ensure **bulk loading procedures are followed** and VAS self service is operational.
- To **perform and record Walk By Inspections** (WBI) as per schedule on time and in full.
- To **maintain good housekeeping** in all production, loading and warehouse areas.

**Education/ experiences/ skills/ competencies required**:

- Valid counterbalance FLT license
- Supervisor experience 2-5 years
- PC literate and fully conversant with Microsoft packages
- Experienced in manufacturing operations and principles
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills including presenting (inductions).

**Desirable**:

- Scada (or equivalent) plant operating system
- SAP / SAP GUI experience
- Weighbridge operations
- VAS loading system
- Engineering maintenance
- First Aider

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £1.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- shift supervisory: 5 years (preferred)
- SAP: 5 years (preferred)
- Engineering maintenance: 5 years (preferred)
- SCADA plant operating systems: 1 year (preferred)
