An exciting opportunity has arisen within SGNs Network Strategy department and as part of SGNs price control team to lead on the development of our Repex (replacement of ageing metallic pipes) business plan.

This is a hybrid role (office/home working) and not location specific i.e., can be based in any SGN office in either Southern or Scotland.

SGN, being a natural monopoly, operate under licence and are regulated by Ofgem (Office of Gas & Electricity Markets) via time bound price control periods where pre-determined workloads and allowances are set. The next price control period (GD3) starts inApril 2026 and lasts for 5 years. A team have been established to work towards the submission of SGNs business plan.

The role of the Regulation Analyst (Repex) is a combination of both a Business and Data analyst role and will specifically be responsible for the management and collation of a high quality, well evidenced and deliverable plan encompassing all aspects ofSGNs programme to replace ageing metallic pipes at risk of failure. In the current price control this is an investment of c£1bn of customers money to ensure that the gas remains securely within the pipe network and customers are kept safe and warm.

We are looking for a self
- motivated, and inquisitive individual who will be proactive and take responsibility for the delivery of key submissions, to defined deadlines, and be able to set their own goals to deliver their objectives.

**What will you be doing day to day?**
- Managing the competing requirements across the Network directorate to pull together and review workloads from asset managers responsible for distribution pipe assets
- Lead the process of building engineering and cost justification papers for the investment plans proposed for SGN’s assets across Southern and Scotland.
- Work closely with SGNs Regulatory Finance department to ensure that workload costings are efficient and best represented within the plan including the advanced preparation and support of specialist reports
- Prepare and ensure the sign on (delivery) and sign off (senior management) of business plan submissions including annex documentation, engineering justification, cost benefit analysis and other supporting information

- Experience of data analysis and manipulation techniques
- Experience liaising across departments
- Excellent interpersonal skills to develop effective working relationships
- Excellent organisational skills to ensure that work is delivered to tight timescales
- A flexible approach and willingness to engage across the wider business
- A highly self-motivated approach with a positive attitude
- In addition, these skills that would be beneficial to this role:_
- Qualifications in an engineering or mathematical discipline ideally at degree level
- Knowledge of the Repex or similar programme
- Understanding of the regulatory framework that SGN operates
- Experience working with CBA techniques
