Massarella Catering is a well established leading independent retail caterer operating over 65 cafes and restaurant nationally. We operate several cafe brands based mainly within shopping centres, department stores, including John Lewis, House of Fraser, TK Max and Wilkos as well as operating in independent stores, outlet villages and Garden centres.
As a result of retirement, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Food Hygiene & Safety Officer to join our small Head Office team. Reporting to the Human Resources Director this is a varied role with your key responsibility to drive food safety and hygiene standards and systems to ensure compliance throughout the business. You will provide day to day support, guidance and training to Area Managers and Site Managers on all aspects of food and health & safety issues. You will be mainly field based visiting sites throughout the country to carry out audits as well as dealing directly with EHO reported visits and any accident or alleged food contamination investigation reports where necessary.
To fulfil this position, you must be a strong communicator, happy to travel with the occasional overnight stays. You need to be qualified within Food Safety, (minimum to level 4) have at least 3 years’ experience working within a similar multi-site restaurant/café operation or as a qualified EHO officer.
