**Education required**:
Currently studying an Undergraduate Degree in Life Sciences, including but not limited to: Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Pharmacology, Immunology, Genetics, Physiology, Microbiology or Computational Biology, Material Science.

**Other requirements**:You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You must be enrolled at a UK (United Kingdom) or ROI (Republic of Ireland) University for the duration of your placement.

**If you have already graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree and are currently studying a postgraduate Masters, you are not eligible for this programme.**

**Language requirement**: Written and spoken fluency in English

**Expected Start date**: September 2026

**Duration**: 1 year (approximately)

**Salary**: A salary of £25,400 plus a bonus.

**The Roles (15 available)**

**Role 1 - Respiratory, Immunology and Inflammation Biology Unit (RIIBU)**

Workplace Arrangements: Full time on site required

Overview of Department

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Respiratory, Immunology and Inflammation Biology and Translational Units (RIIBU/TU), which oversee preclinical and early clinical assets across several disease areas including lung, liver, kidney, and rheumatology. The Units consist of multiple disease-aligned groups including Inflammation and Fibrosis, Hepatology, Renal and Respiratory and Translational Sciences. This role will be within the Analytics or Translational team.

Key Placement Learnings
- Combining biological knowledge and analytic skills to maximise impact in progressing new medicine opportunities.
- Coding in R.
- Implementing bioinformatic analysis workflows to deliver foundational and project-aligned RNA-sequencing data and may include single cell and spatial transcriptomics data.
- Developing intricate data-dashboards for lab assay outputs to make results interactive and impactful for our biology experts.
- Training others in analytics and elevating the digital fluency of the department.
- Close collaboration with our business partners in Human Genetics and Genomics, AIML, Data and Predictive Sciences, and Research Statistics.

**Role 2 - Human Biology and Omics Technologies**

Workplace Arrangements: Full time on site required

Overview of the Department

Roles within the Human Biology and Omics Technologies department comprise of several disciplines that provide scientific knowledge required to develop translational models and assays to enable the discovery and validation of novel therapeutic targets, through gaining a deeper understanding of causal biology and mechanisms. The role will involve advanced cell culture, genome editing, high content imaging, automation, functional assays, flow cytometry, ELISAs and omics.
