Market Settlements Team Leader

**Job Description**:
We are now recruiting for a Market Settlements Team Leader. The Team Leader will be responsible for the workload, development, and performance of their team. They will work as a mentor and coach to ensure excellence and drive standards forward. They are also the referral point for all technical queries from within the team. As well as leading the team they will also be responsible for maintaining their own workload. The role will be responsible for the supervision of a small team to ensure all aspects of Market Settlements are completed within Key Performance Indicators.
The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- Supervising a small team responsible for:
- Ensuring market trades are settled in accordance with agreed settlement dates across all products and markets;
- The settlement of high value and /or high risk trades is controlled and that the relevant authorities are in place and that appropriate actions are taken to minimise the risk to the business;
- Failed Trades are proactively managed an that the relevant reporting and escalation is in place to avoid the risk of market buy-ins, losses and client criticism;
- Cash settlements are accurate and timely
- Reconciliation breaks are reviewed and cleared in line with company policy;
- Ensuring that all processes are maintained and completed in accordance with internal and external SLAs
- Maintenance of key controls in order to minimise risk to the business
- Continually review existing risks and identify and manage new risks as appropriate
- Manage and develop staff, including regular 121’s and performance reviews, ensuring that training needs are identified and addressed
- Ensure compliance with FCA and CASS Regulations at all times, with breaches/suspected breaches reported to a Manager immediately.
- Production of KPI Data and MI as agreed
- Support project implementations, fixes and upgrades through testing of software and assisting with the definition of processes and procedures
- Co-operate with all other teams to ensure efficient operating processes and a positive client experience.
- Provide cover for the Manager and carry out other duties as required by line management
- Maintain good working relations with other teams, liaising as necessary to develop efficient and effective operating processes
**Competence**:
- Experience of Supervising a team / leading administrative staff
- Professional qualifications - IOC qualified or working towards
- Good understanding of CASS principles
- Good understanding of reconciliations and the processes required to resolve and remediate within tight timeframes.
**Knowledge & Skills**:
- Knowledge and experience in complaints handling
- Supervisory skills including performance management
- Ability to work in a deadline driven structured environment, at times unsupervised
- Ability to motivate, empower and develop the Team.
- Ability to organise and prioritise both self and others
- Ability to delegate effectively
- Excellent customer service skills
- Understand the principles of stockbroking
- Attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Microsoft Office (word/excel)
