**Purpose of the Role**

The Project Officer, Pilot Projects will play a key role in delivering Montrose Community Trust’s new programmes - the Sports Employability Programme, SeaChange and Montrose Community Garden. The role focuses on engaging the community, supporting individuals of the community to access opportunity and ensuring the successful delivery and evaluation of key projects.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Programme Delivery**:

- Plan, coordinate and deliver MCT programmes in line with organisational goals.
- Ensure all activities are accessible, inclusive and participant-focused.
- Work closely with participants, tailoring support to meet their individual needs.
- **Participant Engagement**:

- Build strong relationships with individuals and families, supporting them with fairness, dignity and respect.
- Conduct regular check-ins with participants to monitor progress and gather feedback.
- **Monitoring and Evaluation**:

- Collect and analyse data to measure the impact of projects, including attendance, outcomes and feedback.
- Contribute to reports for funders, trustees and stakeholders.
- **Partnership Working**:

- Collaborate with local schools, businesses, and community organisations to enhance project delivery.
- Maintain referral pathways to ensure participants have access to additional support where required.
- **Administration and Planning**:

- Manage programme resources, schedules and budgets effectively.

- **1. Sports Employability Programme (SEP)**_

The Sports Employability Programme is Montrose Community Trust’s flagship youth initiative, designed to equip young people with the skills, experience, and confidence to enter employment, education, or training—particularly within the sports sector.

Participants engage in a blend of learning, action, and reflection through the **Learn, Know, Act** framework. From CV writing and interview prep to coaching badges and hands-on work placements, SEP builds practical experience and pathways into sustainable employment.

As part of this role, you will help deliver and shape SEP activities, build rapport with participants, support their progression, and contribute to the programme’s wider success and growth.
- **2. Sea Change**_

Sea Change is a creative climate project run in partnership with _Culture for Climate_ that uses the arts, local culture, and community dialogue to inspire action on the climate emergency. In Montrose, the project explores the town’s identity through the lens of climate, coast, and community.

Sea Change is rooted in co-creation—working alongside artists, storytellers, and local residents to imagine and shape a more sustainable future. Montrose Community Trust’s role is to engage people who might not otherwise participate in climate discussions, including young people, older adults, and marginalised groups.

This post will support outreach, creative engagement, event delivery, and climate-positive messaging—helping to connect people and place through story, art, and action.

Montrose Community Trust is revitalising a disused local garden into a thriving, shared green space. This project is about sustainability, wellbeing, and bringing people together to learn, grow, and enjoy the outdoors.

The garden will be used for community volunteering, intergenerational activities, nature-based learning, and food-growing initiatives that support MCT’s wider programmes (including Breakfast in the Box and healthy eating campaigns).
